Hello ZEET NATION
This last 2 weeks was split between two things: normal product development, and front-end changes. A lot of the big, reality-shifting stuff is still in the works, but the UI changes? Those are live RIGHT NOW.
So What's New?
List View Upgrades
The front-end team is been growing, and with growth, comes HORSEPOWER. We don't need an intervention to know that having the capability to do anything isn't the same as having the usability to do anything. You can build entire software companies on top of Zeet, but it's not always clear how to do so.
We want our UX to work for you, and one of the ways we're doing this is bringing more things to the fore by having more intuitive views. Our list view is the first in a long line of changes coming that will let you spend more time shipping, and less time wondering how to.
Cluster Card View Enhancements
I'm very happy to report that our Cluster Card View got a makeover too. This is full blown Velma taking her glasses off in the Scooby Doo Movie territory, saxophone and all. Not only does the UI/UX work a lot better, but it's also just so clean. I mean look at it!
It's so pretty.
Resource Creation
Yeah, I buried the lead. I've been teasing this for a few Changelogs now, and I'm excited to finally drop it into one. Resources are here, at least V1 of them. If you're used to using Zeet Apps, you can think of these as more powerful, more flexible versions of those.
We've still got some major changes coming to how you make Resources (and how to make your own Resource templates, called Deployables), but for now, check out the Resource creation flow, we're really proud of it!
Sign Up Flow
Most of you reading this have already signed up, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Zeet is going to be changing, morphing, EVOLVING. By that, I mean our website got a huge makeover, but the app hasn't been all done up yet.
That's all changing today, at least it's starting to. The whole onboarding flow will get shorter, clearer, and generally make more sense. Next up, everything else in the app.
Bug Fixes + Improvements
The 🐞s we squashed, and a few changes to look for this week.
Cloud Quota Alarms
Cloud Quota alarms are coming your way. Node provisioning exceeding cloud quota limits has caused more than a few deployment mishaps, and now we're paying attention 😎.
Command Prompt Fixes
A lot of you probably didn't even know about this menu, so consider this an expose and an improvement all wrapped into one sentence: the CMD + k menu should be behaving a lot better, and actually sending you to the place you want to go.
Docker Tags
When you deploy from a Docker image, we'll bring the relevant build tags to the fore. This is a minor change that we think will add some major clarity.
Anything Else???
This week we were heads down on some major in-flight initiatives:
- We're streamlining more of the FTUX to make sure you get value from Zeet ASAP.
